When we were all at peace - Before the removals and changes in churchyard management. A beautiful peaceful place to remember and reflect.  A place of healing and comfort

What has been removed, these items were small they were never extreme or unsightly.  They brought comfort to the bereaved.  These items are part of the healing process, to lose a loved one, especially a child, is the most painful experience any of us endure.  There is no time scale for grief, grief is personal and we all deal with it in our own way.  Every road is different and we must not judge or dictate how anyone is supposed to feel.  Our lives were torn apart, our place of remembrance destroyed and our trust in the church shattered.  Why?  Because of Victorian and draconian rules and ideals.

There are a huge number of items here, but if you also take into account the fact that there are over 200 graves in the new burial ground that is less than one item per grave.
